Grace grew up in San Francisco, where she attended Lowell High School. She later graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, returning to San Francisco to clerk for a Federal Appeals Court judge. She practiced law for a number of years at one of San Francisco’s premier law firms before coming to Hill and Co. in 1995. Her varied legal practice included real estate litigation, as well as landlord-tenant work and lease negotiation.
“I feel my legal background and training contribute enormously to my real estate practice”, says Grace. “My negotiation skills, my ability to see transactional issues before they become problems, and my contract training all help me navigate even the most complicated sales. Finally, I take very seriously my fiduciary duty to my clients, and believe that I bring to bear on all of my practice an exceptional level of client loyalty and advocacy.”
Since coming to Hill and Co., Grace has developed a remarkably strong and broad practice. She represents both buyers and sellers in all San Francisco neighborhoods, and in all price ranges – from smaller condominiums to multi-million dollar homes. Grace prides herself on providing the same personal, professional, and proactive service to each of her clients, no matter what their needs or resources.
Since beginning her work in real estate, Grace has consistently been among Hill & Co.’s top producers. She is particularly proud of the fact that her entire client roster is the result of referral business from her very satisfied customers. Grace also enjoys an excellent reputation with her colleagues as a thoughtful negotiator and a consistent “closer.” “I try my best never to lose a client, and I strive never to lose a deal.”
Grace is married to David Brownstein, a native San Franciscan and partner at the law firm of Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe. They have three children.
